Retirement home and day center “Os Tercios”.

A retirement home is a place where seniors go to be cared for, relate to other people, and engage in activities to keep themselves busy and fit. It is located in a natural setting in the city outskirts. Our aim is to make a building where adults can enjoy the nature, even if they can not go out for health reasons . The fantastic natural lighting and the views, both with positive effects on people’s mood, are prevalent at all times; road tracks are turned into walkways and common areas are wide and bright. The retirement home consists of the people who live and work there. Mental health care is just as important at this age as physical health care. Making seniors feel good is the first step to facilitating the work of caregivers. The building consists of two parts: a large three-floored volume where the bedrooms are , and a perpendicular volume spanning the ground floor which houses all the services necessary to ensure their proper functioning.
