Ideas Competition for Administrative Multipurpose Building in Lugo..

The building is situated on a corner, with a distinctive boundary wall and in front of the Wall of Lugo. We integrate the building into the area, first by separating the main volume from the boundary wall. A triple-height area organizes the inside is used to include the boundary wall into the space. The staircase connecting the different floors crosses through the triple height and has a a sculptural character, especially when entering the building. The slope of one of the streets is exploited to provide access from the lowest point to the garage floors. Large stone roof terraces seem to engage in dialogue with the silently-observing Wall.
