Building rehabilitation to make a tourist country house in Cabaneiros.

The countryside is modified by humans to meet their own needs. Why do structures stand in a certain way? In the countryside, a house extends beyond its own boundaries. Facing rehabilitation in rural areas means to understand why a house is the way it is and its placing. Before the use change one must ask what values we hold and what we need to modify or enhance. In this work, two buildings make up the set to rehabilitate. We create an enclosing and a square unifying the whole square and confers it a public use nature. In the main building, entirely devoted to the hotel, a triple height is bisected by the staircase giving access to all levels, ending at the deck. The staircase as well as the fireplace acquire a sculptural spatial presence. The restaurant is located in the small building. This is an open space, the kitchen and the bathroom form pure and free volume, made from DM panels made allowing for the continuous perception of the space and the deck. It was important to choose all the furniture to keep the indoor environment under control.
