Apartment building near the seaside promenade of La Coruña

The position of this building is really special as it is located in the Orzán Cove, thus becoming part of the waterfront of the city. The views are excellent and it is important to take into consideration the visual relationship between the housing and the promenade in both directions. The source of inspiration has been the spectacular view from that spot. We chose a simple and clean facade where transparency occurs in both directions, since it is more enjoyable and inclusive of the city. As a consequence, fixed windows are made as wide as possible, placing to their sides a series of balconies to facilitate the cleaning of the windows . Railings are placed only in the openings in order not to spoil the view. The railings are raised and given shape, thus separating them from the glass facade plane, acquiring some depth. On the inside, each floor has a different layout, but in all of them the kitchen and the living room are unified to create a broad space highlighting the views of the bay area.
